This is not an official website of Mutant Enemy. There isn’t one. This is a fan-run website (and Twitter account) dedicated to all things Mutant Enemy, maintained by The One True b!X, a thirteen-year resident of the Portland of Oregon born forty years ago in upstate New York who might or might not be twitchy and unreliable-looking.
Mutant Enemy (with whom this site has no affiliation) of course is the Joss Whedon production shingle responsible for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly, Dollhouse, and Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog.
Unofficial M.E. is an outgrowth of the Twitter account above, which itself replaced an earlier such account dedicated solely to Dollhouse. Both efforts arose from b!X’s half a decade operating a string of fandom-related websites (many now defunct) including Session 416, River Is Made Of CHOCOLATE, Big Damn Commentaries, The (Browncoat) Invoice, What Is Mia Made Of?, and Its Own Sub-Genre.
In late 2005/early 2006, he founded Can’t Stop The Serenity, which has gone on to raise more than $300,000 for Equality Now. In 2008, he maintained the official website for The Evil League of Evil during the contest to find new member applications to include on the Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog DVD.
In late 2009, he published On Mutant Enemy And Social Media, a public version of a longer pitch document he drafted during FOX’s lackluster support for Dollhouse, detailing arguments in support of his view that Mutant Enemy ought to have a web and social media presence. @UnofficialME, and this website, exist in part to offer a wholly inadequate substitute.
Unofficial M.E. is not affiliated with Mutant Enemy, Timescience Bloodclub, 20th Century FOX Television, or any related company.
